Yours, always. Present Mode projects the exact board you generated, tile by tile, with your title, your directions, your sentence frames, and your icons. There is no "demo" mode swapping in a canned example. If you regenerate the board, Present Mode instantly shows the new version.

You mark which activities each student completes (first name + last initial is enough), and QuestBoard shows you class-wide patterns, which tiles were popular, which DOK levels students avoided, and who might need a nudge toward a DOK 3 tile. Yes. We only store first name + last initial, never full names, emails, or IDs. Students don't create accounts. Student work (writing, drawings, uploads) is never stored on our servers, the Work Pages print or export on your device. QuestBoard is designed to be usable by a district lawyer's standards on day one.

Currently: Common Core ELA (grades 6-8), Reading Literature, Reading Informational, Writing, Speaking & Listening, and Language strands, plus California ELD standards (Part I & II) for grades 6-8. You can pair one content standard with one ELD standard and QuestBoard tailors sentence frames to that ELD level. If your standard isn't listed, paste it in, the "My standard isn't listed" link keeps the free-text option.

When you use "Start from my materials," your PDF/DOCX/image or pasted transcript is sent to the AI only for that single generation. Files are never stored on QuestBoard servers, as soon as the board comes back, the upload is discarded. We show the source filename on your teacher copy so you remember what a board is based on, but it never appears on student-facing pages or share links.

Two ways. (1) Share link: every board gets a clean URL you can drop into Classroom as a "material", students see the student view, no teacher notes. (2) Copy work page for Google Docs: each activity has a button that copies rich formatted HTML, paste it into a new Doc and post it as "each student gets a copy" in Classroom. No plugin, no OAuth. Works in every district.

The same learning goal, same standard, same DOK, with lower language load. Each tile gets a 3-5 step version with emoji icons, ~10-word sentences, bolded action verbs, a word bank, and one worked-example starter. It's how QuestBoard bakes UDL into every activity: multiple ways to access the same rigor, without a separate "easy version" that stigmatizes anyone. Great for striving readers and Emerging / Expanding ELs, every student can toggle between Standard and 🪜 Step-by-step on the share page.

Every activity ships with a single-point rubric: 3-4 criteria pulled from the standard, each with a clear target statement in the student's own voice ("I can cite two pieces of evidence…"). Students see the target BEFORE they start, and a tappable "What would make it a 4? 🌟" reveal shows the stretch goal. The scale is 1-4 across the whole app: 1 Just starting, 2 Getting there, 3 Got it, 4 Went beyond. It's the exact same scale the Mastery Tracker uses, so scoring feeds straight into your grade view without translation.

Yes, through Coach Check. On any digital work page, a stuck student can tap 🧭 Am I on the right track? and get a short, warm response: one thing they did right, one next step, and one sentence starter drawn from the activity's own frames. Rules: three checks per activity, 60-second cooldown between checks, hints only, never answers. If a student asks the coach to write the sentence, it cheerfully redirects them back to the work. Nothing is stored, and teachers can turn Coach Check off per board with one toggle.

Three ways, all working within our privacy rules. (1) Printable feedback slips: from any Mastery Tracker cell you can generate a quarter-page PDF, four per sheet, with first name + last initial, the activity title, mastery level, and your written comment. Cut lines included. (2) 📋 Copy for Classroom: one click grabs a student's feedback and you paste it as a Google Classroom private comment. (3) Class glows and grows: a projectable one-pager showing three anonymous strengths and two next steps, drawn only from the notes you wrote, so the whole class sees the pattern without any student being named.

Print-ready PDFs for the board, the student packet (all Work Pages combined into one photocopier-friendly PDF), and per-activity Work Pages. You can pick Standard, Step-by-step, or both (Step-by-step prints on the back of each page, visually identical header, so it's not obvious from across the room). Share links work on any device. Google Docs copy-paste for Classroom.

Two options: hit Regenerate to try again with the same inputs (the AI produces a different set of 9/16 tiles), or email hello@questboardhub.com with the board link, we read every message during beta and use them to tune the prompt. If a specific tile is off, tell us which one; we're actively hardening the DOK 3 tiles and the ELD sentence frames.
